Prior to having your patient schedule with us, we recommend performing:
a physical examination
collecting a complete blood count, chemistry with SDMA, T4 and urinalysis (if safe to do so)
If these tests have been performed in the past 6 months and the behavioral issue PREDATES the last physical examination and diagnostics, these tests do not need to be repeated prior to their intake and veterinary behavior evaluation.
Vet to Vet Teleconsultations
Two options are available to suit your needs and the needs of your practice. These services are available to veterinarians around the world.
If you are a veterinarian that would like to discuss the use of medical therapy and management for one of your behavior patients, have a behavior patient that needs immediate triage, or would like to expand your behavior medicine skillset, email us at info@insightfulanimals.com to schedule one of our Vet to Vet teleconsultations.
These appointments are typically available within 1-2 weeks of the request, making this ideal for cases needing immediate triage.
Communication
Communication of recommendations, information, and materials will be conducted directly between veterinary team members.
Pet owners interested in this service are welcome to share this information sheet with their veterinarian, but all subsequent communication must occur between veterinary team members and the pet owner should not act as an intermediary between the clinics.
Insight cannot communicate directly with your client regarding follow-up questions and will be redirected to your office should they reach out.
Payment
The veterinary clinic or veterinarian will pay Insight Animal Behavior Services, P.C. the cost of the consultation online at the time of booking. You can determine how best to bill your client. We cannot accept payment directly from your client.

You, the primary care veterinarian, remain ultimately responsible for all treatment decisions, including prescriptions, behavioral management, and follow-up care.
